It is always a little bit of a gamble with this airplane food. Sometimes you are lucky and sometimes you are starving. In my case the second case was commonest.
Well, this time I wanted to be prepared and prepared some food before leaving the house.
Good snacks to take with you are:
–Vegan Protein bars
I knew that I also had breakfast on the plane and when traveling in an airplane it is usually pretty tough to get in oatmeal or smoothies (forget it!) through the control. What I did this time was, I packed a mixture of oats dried fruits and nuts in a plastic bag. When I was through the x-ray I bought some sliced fresh fruits in a plastic bowl. When they served breakfast in the plane then, I took out my fruits ate them, put the oats in the bowl and kindly asked for a cup of hot water.
I poured the water of the oats and enjoyed a homemade warm porridge with fresh fruits. Easy peasy.
My airplane neighbour was very friendly and let me make a picture of the regular vegetarian breakfast. Guess it’s kind of a cheese toast, more cheese on the side, bread, butter, jam, almond cake and some veggies.
The rest of the flight was fine. I had all of my snacks and the dinner then was even ALMOST vegan with beans in tomato sauce, a salad and some cheese. I skipped the almond cake and instead had too much of Alter Eco’s Dark chocolate 🙂
