The day after all the Christmas days. I don’t know about you but usually, we celebrate between 3-4 (feels like 6) days. These are the best days with lots of food, laughter, talks and candles and cake. You know what I am talking about. This Christmas I did not let any voice in my head get through and I enjoyed all the food my family and me prepared. It was amazing but I am also glad to be back on track with eating, exercising and blogging. Today I made a little „detox“ day dairy where I show you what I ate after Christmas. All plant-based things that are good for your body and help you to reduce cravings. I really hope you like this kind of post and if you scroll down at the very end of the post, you can read about my „I can do it until new year“ challenge. Don’t miss it!
After finally getting up I was craving some water and so I made myself a huge warm lemon water . Lemon water is a great energy booster and refresher as our tissues are dehydrated and in desperate need of fluid to push out toxins. I try to drink it all morning but forgot during the last days. Nobody’s perfect right?!
- A tall glass of lemon water
- Smoothie with extra greens and bananas
So what I had for breakfast was this WINTER ANTIOXIDANT BLAST BLUEBERRY-PURPLE CORN SMOOTHIE but got rid of the agave nectar and added 2 handfuls of spinach for an extra boost.
- Raw Nutbar + 2 dates
- Potato oven fries with low sugar ketchup, mango sauce and kale
This was basically what I had left in the fridge, but as I was craving something „salty“, this was perfect and made in only 30 minutes. Bring on that healthy comfort food!
Dinner was another green smoothie bowl Little „After Christmas Detox“ Food Diary a lazy day. I added some extra peanut butter for the good fats and had a Chai tea next to it. I was craving sweets again but decided not to give in and had another tea (peppermint) instead.
How many calories?
To be honest, I don’t count calories and I have no intention starting with it as I believe there is a way around it where one can feel good without sticking to numbers. I mean I know that I ate way too much as my body would actually need on the last days, but I enjoyed every little bite and I think it’s totally fine to break „the healthy“ eating routine on several occasions. How sad would it be to say „no“ to these sweet cookies or the potato mash, the warm bread and not to forget the heavenly chocolate cake (it was vegan and had an avocado base ;), I count that as healthy)
Challenge until new year
I have (maybe my mouth again was faster than my brain) agreed to challenge myself and try to eat no chocolate until new years eve. Why? I HAVE NO IDEA! Seriously it’s just one of the stupid things you do when you have funny conversations with friends. I am a chocolate monster and I want to prove myself that I can survive 6 days without chocolate. I bought tons of dates, nut bars, peanut butter, fruits and everything that could potentially substitute chocolate. To be honest I am not so sure if I can do it. You can see me fail or win on Snapchat or Instastories where I will show you my stages of desperation. 🙂 And on New Year’s Eve, I’ll be devouring a Vegan Black Forest Cake. ON MY OWN!
