It’s Christmas soon and I guess I am not the only one, who already indulged on too many cookies? Well, I believe it’s totally fine, since Christmas is only once a year! And as for me it doesn’t always have to be unhealthy, store-bought cookies or chocolates; I prefer my own version of Christmas sweets that I don’t have to feel bad about it and I further sneaked in some greens that are good for my body.
Introducing you to my this years favorite „Raw Chocolate Bliss Ball with healthy greens“.
It’s funny how so many people know about the benefits of wheatgrass, spirulina, chlorella and all the other greens but obviously, have problems taking them because of the taste. As you might think that they don’t taste sweet and therefore don’t belong into a sweet recipe, I want to convince of the contrary. I think it’s truly amazing to sneak in some greens and superfoods without noticing their taste but still getting all the benefits. Want to give it a try?
These Raw Chocolate Bliss Ball are sweetened only with dates and due to the cinnamon flavor they taste just like a wonderful Christmas cookie. I just added buckwheat, unsweetened cacao powder, chia seeds All you need to make them a success is actually a good food processor and all the ingredients I mentioned above. Nothing else. I promise.
- 1½ cup Medjool dates, pitted
- 1 tbsp coconut oil, melted
- ⅓ cup buckwheat
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- ⅓ cup cacao powder
- 1 tsp wheatgrass
- 1 tsp chlorella
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- Place all ingredients in a food processor and pulse until well combined.
- Shape into 12-15 balls and roll in shredded coconut.
- Store in a container up to 1 week or freeze forever.
Super secret tip: My friend Julia always adds a little rum extract to the bliss balls and it’s soo good! Try it!

Hello!
I am making a lot of bliss balls- I love them! And I saw your recipe- I love it too! But with all the bliss balls that I do I can feel an after taste , hard to explain but maybe acidic. I was thinking that it may be because sometimes I leave the balls in the fridge for a few days (but none of the ingredients should problem a problem,?). I thought it was the coconut (maybe poor quality) mixed with the water (I replaced the milk with water, but maybe it is the water or milk together as I also add porridge oats.. If you have a recommendation or a tip it would be great !!! Thanks!!, Lucy
