3 reasons why Gourmet Ads and Google Adsense don’t accept you

When I first started this blog I celebrated every little success and thought I knew everything about blogging now. HAHA, I was wrong. When applying to several advertising companies, I learned it the hard way and failed despicably. I wished that there would have been someone telling me:

„Do this!“ Not that! And ihhhhh never ever try that! Oh you missed that?“

I thought I would never make it to the point where I actually spot an advertising banner at the right side of my page. It was an advertising for online classes in Spanish. I remember it clearly and I probably will never forget the feeling of pride when seeing it. After all the exertions, it was quite a good feeling. Now, to release you from – hopefully – some of the nerve-jangling things I went through, I decided to share my experience with you.

I listed for you three points you should check on your blog and pay attention to before applying. Following these, you will have a high chance to get accepted by international advertising companies such as Google Adsense or Gourmet Ads.

So let’s get this started!

1) Page content
This might be the reason most blogs don’t get accepted. Create great content! Most people believe they are not accepted because they don’t have enough followers, whereas I believe that you have to build enough high-quality content. With great content also great followers coming. I suggest a minimum amount of 50 blogposts, otherwise your blog won’t look very trustworthy. Also aim for a blog length of 400-500 words per post as this makes a good impression to readers and also to the advertising companies. If the content is poorly written and has grammatical mistakes, Google and Adsense will reject the blog right away. My tip is to use Grammarly. Grammarly is an awesome tool that checks your grammar. I have the Chrome extension on my blog. It is amazing and totally free! (I don’t get any money or credits for saying that I just recommend it because I think it is amazing for you bloggers and bloggers to be and it is free!)

2) The DESIGN
When it comes to the design of your page it is so WORTH it to spend some extra dollars on a good template! Better do it from the beginning than changing everything afterward! As I said I learned it the hard way. I started with a free template from WordPress I recently found that the most beautiful templates are on Elegant themes. Their themes look great are easy to use and are cheaper than many premium options.
Last note on themes is the following: Make sure your design is responsive.
This means that it looks great on your display and on your handy 😉 Non-responsive designs look horrible on iphones. (Yep, been there, done that, done it again because I obviously never learn)

3) You don’t have a Privacy Policy and worst no ABOUT Page

There are some pages which you must have before applying to Google AdSense or Gourmet Ads if you want to get accepted. You can check the requirements on their pages. When you have an ABOUT you page where you tell the reader a little bit more about you, a privacy policy (you can find many examples when you tip in Google Privacy policy examples -blog) you are on the safe side. Also, make sure there is a place where you write down your email address so people can contact you. You can do a separate page or add it in your ABOUT page. Many forget about these pages because they have never heard about it. Now you know 🙂 These pages are important as they give the impression that you are a professional and that you are working according to certain policies.
